So, when we think about sweater vest, the first thing come to your mind is grandpa vest. Right? Well, I too. Maybe it’s time to give a break to the boyfriend’s closet and rifling through your dad’s closet to re-up on some of your favorite gender-fluid staples – baseball caps, oversized pinstriped button down shirt – be sure to grab a couple of the sweater vest.
In 2015, we spotted them everywhere from Miu Miu resort to Christian Dior prefall. From spring 2016, Gucci and Prada made the case for geek-chic dressing. Coming to spring 2017 the granddad trend is still going strong. Prada, Gucci, and Michael Kors (to name a few) did not back down.
I know what you will be thinking. How to style them every day well. It’s really simple here is 3 ways you can style the sweater vest this winter.
First look, pair your cropped sweater vest over a basic white or a black tee under a coat with a mini A-line skirt (denim or suede is always the safest bet but you are feeling little adventures try patent leather skirt which is so in trend currently.) finishing it off with fishnet stocking and pointed kitten heels.
Secondly, you can layer the vest with your cool long sleeve top or a cold shoulder bell sleeve top and threw on a pair of frayed denim jeans my go-to’s and finish the look with some sleek pumps to add a punch of femininity.
For the third look, coming to my outfit where I chose this blue sweater. It slightly cropped, super fuzzy that I like most about this one and has a V-neck. I wore a coat like this one jersey duster coat over with a denim skirt and blue ballet flat and a fringe orange suede bag. I love this bow, which I made out of a skinny necktie pinned it on the neck of the sweater.
